The Matrice 300 RTK was released almost two years ago and this time is enough to say that this drone is a professional and reliable platform. The drone boasts an array of cool safety features and offers excellent performance even in the most challenging weather conditions. So far, this flying machine is the industry standard in such niches as emergency response, mapping, construction, etc.
However, DJI doesn’t stand still; this company is always working on the improvements of existing products. Recently, the company released the new v03.00.01.01 firmware version for the Matrice 300 RTK. And in this insightful post, we’ll take a closer look at the new release.
Offline Updates
Now, all firmware updates can be completed offline. This means that users can download the offline firmware package from the official DJI website and save this file to any external storage device. Now, you only need to insert this file into a remote controller and use the DJI app to make updates. Users that have special security needs can benefit from this solution as in this case, they can easily review updates without connecting to the internet.
Data and Privacy Settings
The new firmware update features enhanced privacy settings, including SD card encryption, Restricted Network Mode, etc. Let’s take a closer look at the new privacy settings.
Three new network security modes
So far, the following network security modes are supported:
- Local Data Mode (this mode can be applied to the drone software);
- Standard Mode (you don’t have any restrictions on connecting to the internet);
- Restricted Network Mode.
You need to decide which mode suits your needs most of all and apply it.
Clear Device Data
After you update your drone to the new version, you’ll be allowed to clear internal logs from your aircraft, remote controller, or H20 Series payload. If you used to keep your flight logs on DJI servers, the program can delete them if you request it.
SD card encryption
There’s an extra level of security – now you can easily protect any microSD card with a special code. But when you set it, you’ll be asked to re-enter it again when you switch on your drone. Beyond this, if you are going to use this option, you’ll be asked to use the DJI Decrypt Tool that allows you to check encrypted files on your computer. If you don’t have it, you won’t be able to access your files. Besides, there’s no need for your computer to be connected to the internet.
One-tap Panorama Mode with the Zenmuse H20 Cameras
Great news for all users of Zenmuse H20 cameras! Now, you can easily make a full-scene panorama in a few clicks. Just one minute, and you’ll easily create a fascinating panorama image. This option is of utmost importance for emergency experts that need to quickly analyze the environment and take immediate decisions.
Better Height Limits
It’s another enhancement that is surely worth your attention. The company manufacturer has increased the height limit for the new drone from 500m to 1500m. However, you can’t use this feature to fly within 50 km of an airport.
The New Coordinated Turn
It’s a new option that has the potential to be a must-have feature for pilots. Its main goal is to help pilots make a smooth turn mid-flight. Moreover, it can do this automatically by adding Roll to Yaw when turning.
The Update Health Management System
The Health Management System is often underrated. However, it has the power to control flight logs, check error records, and analyze the status of M300. Besides, now you can access DJI Care Enterprise and DJI Maintenance Program.
When you connect your battery station to a remote controller via USB-C, you’ll be able to check error records or log control for batteries.
Return-to-Home Improvements
When you use the RTH feature, the DJI Pilot will remind you to exit auto RTH and allow you to manually control the drone. To exit this mode, you need to move the remote controller stick in the opposite direction.
PinPoint Improvements
With the latest update, users can edit and control multiple Pin Points or even send PinPoint as a home point that can be the drone’s real location, takeoff location, the pilot and remote controller’s location, etc.
So, if you are eager to get the best commercial drone experience, update your drone to the latest version right away.
